How It All Started

It started with two brothers and a shared love for fine cocktails and exceptional ingredients. We wanted to pour experience and imagination into a glass. During a trip to visit a close chef friend, the idea naturally evolved: why not offer small bites to perfectly pair with your drink?

That's how our tapas concept was born—small, handmade appetizers meant to be shared, extending the conversation for hours. We named it ZAZÚ, which in Swahili means 'a new movement'. As the first tapas bar in Zakynthos, with the Toucan as our symbol, we strive to bring something entirely new to our home.

Rooted in Zakynthos

This is the island where we grew up and the place we love. It's the island of our national poet, rich in history, with beautiful beaches and stunning turquoise waters. It's an island that attracts people from everywhere, but more than that, it's a place that inspires you to evolve.

Our traditions are reflected in both our dishes and our drinks. We source fresh, traditional ingredients from our land to create Mediterranean recipes with a modern twist. Everything is handmade, balancing local heritage with contemporary techniques.

Our approach focuses on gastronomic cocktails and minimal aesthetics. We use modern techniques combined with a zero-waste mentality. When we describe a flavor on the menu, we want you to truly taste it in your glass. Even our garnishes are edible and carefully crafted to complement the cocktail's ingredients.

The goal isn't just to serve the most delicious drink or dish. It's for every guest to leave with a bigger smile than when they arrived. We want you to feel comfortable, laugh, share moments with us, and truly feel at home.
